Welcome to Literacy for Life
We’re a local not-for-profit community group that’s striving to make a difference to the lives of local children. Through monetary donations from local businesses and individuals, we’re raising funds to share the gift of reading with children this Christmas. By working alongside local charities, our goal is to distribute new books to those who need them the most in our local area of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Moorlands, opening up the magical power of reading and unlocking literacy for all. Because, it’s more than just a book.
1 in 5 children and young people aged 5-18 do not have a book of their own at home and we want to change that. Your donations mean that we are able to purchase new books for children in your area, opening up a world of curiosity, imagination and wonder in a gift of literacy.
Our elves have been hard at work wrapping hundreds of books to donate to Alice Charity — all to bring a little extra magic to local children who need it this Christmas.
